Dutch Summit

Type: Single-Family Residential

Nestled in the Utah mountains, our Dutch Summit home began as a short-term plan. We never expected to stay long, but we quickly fell in love with the neighborhood, the views, and the sense of community. What started as a few small updates turned into a full-scale remodel—an evolution that grew alongside our love for the home.

Decorating my own home has always felt more challenging than designing for clients. At first, we added just a touch of charm—wallpaper here, a little millwork there. Soon we were replacing cabinets, layering in plaster finishes, and softening the palette with textures that felt warm and timeless.

Eventually, the project grew into a major transformation. We added an addition, refreshed rooms, and completely reimagined the backyard to suit the way our family lives. The goal was always to make the spaces feel a little cozier, a little more layered, and more like “us.”
